Democracy Unplugged presents the only

Pennsylvania 2010 Lieutenant Governor Forum.

On Saturday, May 8th at 7pm, Democracy Unplugged will present the only Lieutenant Governor Forum for the Pennsylvania 2010 electoral race.  The co-sponsors for this event include the Coffee Party, The Committee of Seventy, and Progressive Democrats of America.  This Forum will feature five of the Lieutenant Governor Candidates.  This event will be presented at: The Peace Center of Delaware  County, 1001 Olde Sproul Road in Springfield, PA.

The five participating candidates for the position of Lieutenant Governor are:

H. Scott Conklin Democrat from Philipsburg PA

Jean Craige Pepper Republican from Erie PA

Doris A. Smith-Ribner   Democrat from Philadelphia PA

Stephen A. Urban Republican from Wilkes-Barre PA

Russ Diamond Republican from Annville PA

Founder of Clean Sweep PA

The position of Lieutenant Governor has often been overlooked, but in recent years it has proved to be vitally important.  In the states of Illinois, New York, and New Jersey, the Governor was replaced.  In the state of South Carolina, the Lieutenant Governor had to temporarily assume power.  In fact, New Jersey encountered difficulties, and only this year created the Lieutenant Governor position once the need was demonstrated.

Our format will consist of opening statements followed by a few questions from the following area activists:

Walter Ebmeyer Progressive Democrats of America

Michael Fiore Coffee Party

Rick Lacey Republican Activist

Jim Schneller Independent Candidate for Congress, 7th District.

The Q & A session will be followed by an audience question and answer session.  We will conclude with closing statements by the candidates.

There will be refreshments and a Campaign Literature table, including literature from other state-wide and regional campaigns.  The Coffee Party will be serving free coffee.  Public parking is available on site.
